The Mozambican comedian Munguambe Myth, who suffered a serious traffic accident in October 2024, received financial support this Sunday from 600 thousand meticais in the segment “Door of Hope”, of the program Mozambique in Concert.
The accident occurred when Munguambe was hit by a driver who fled the scene without providing assistance. The severe injuries to his feet prevented him from moving normally, requiring a lengthy hospital stay. Maputo Central Hospital and to a rehabilitation process that lasted until December 2024, when he was discharged.

Since then, a fundraising campaign has been launched to cover medical expenses, including physiotherapy sessions. In April 2025, the comedian surprised everyone by taking his first steps, with the aid of assistive devices, after months of being unable to walk.
In the program broadcast this Sunday, Mito Munguambe received 500,000 meticais to make his treatment in India possible. In addition, the presenter Son of the People announced a personal contribution of 100,000 meticais, totaling 600 thousand meticais.
Visibly moved, Munguambe thanked the audience and the program's production team for their solidarity: “"This help is a blessing and an important step towards my recovery."”, he stated.
