The Mozambican artist Lizha James used a live broadcast on his social media to clarify the facts surrounding the South African singer's delay Scott Maphuma, who ended up not going on stage.
According to Lizha, Scott Maphuma's presence was requested by the fans themselves, after the publication of the first poster of the event, which initially featured only national artists such as Clayton da Drena, Fokiss Júnior, Melony and Denilson. Although the singer's intention was to exclusively promote national talent, the public's reaction led her to consider including an international artist.“I contacted Hot Blaze, but the fans really wanted Scott Maphuma”, revealed Lizha.
Committed to the public's demand, the singer decided to contact the South African artist, having paid his fee one month in advance and guaranteed the air tickets three weeks before the event. Lizha explained that she even acquired eight airline tickets in successive attempts to guarantee Maphuma's presence, after the setbacks that arose on June 1st itself.

As reported, the first attempt was to include the singer on a flight at 8am, but Scott's team informed him that this would not be possible due to a show held the previous night, May 31st. The new estimated arrival time would be via the 1 pm flight, which was missed, due to reasons that Lizha says she doesn't know. “Even so, I continued to look for alternatives to bring him, but unfortunately, although he came, he did not arrive in time to perform.”, he explained.
At the end of the live, Lizha James did an appeal to value national artists, highlighting that the episode left an important reflection. “My idea was always to do a Lizha Só Festa with Mozambican artists”, he stated.
The attitude of Scott Maphuma, who was not available to make a replacement appearance nor did he publicly justify the delay, sparked debate on national media outlets and networks. Lizha emphasizes that this moment should serve as a catalyst for fans and consumers of Mozambican culture to rethink their support and appreciation of local talent.
