The city of Matola began the celebrations of 50 years of Mozambique's Independence with a symbolic event that brought together prominent figures in national music. The official launch took place yesterday and was attended by artists such as MC Roger, Tabasilly and DJ Ardiles, who were present to pay tribute to history and reaffirm their commitment to Mozambican culture and identity.
The event was led by President of the Municipality of Matola, Júlio Parruque, which reinforced the importance of involving the community, especially artists, as a fundamental part of building a more united, participatory and culturally vibrant Matola.
DJ Ardiles, one of the musicians present, shared the moment on social media:
“"Yesterday was the launch day of the celebration of Mozambique's 50th anniversary of independence in Matola, and, accompanied by fellow musicians I also love, I was there to witness this momentous occasion. Together, we built our Matola."”
