The Official Industrial Property Agents (AOPI) have a new generation of representatives, and Nelson Nhachungue is one of the faces that symbolizes this milestone. At the ceremony celebrating the certification of the newest AOPIs, it was clear that the group was well represented – with professionalism, energy, and enthusiasm.
The certification was promoted by Mozambique Institute of Industrial Property, an entity responsible for ensuring the protection of rights related to industrial property, such as trademarks, patents, models and industrial designs. The occasion coincided with the celebration of the Institute's 20th anniversary, highlighting the strategic importance of this step for the country.
In the image captured during the event, Nelson appears alongside other colleagues, all proudly displaying their certificates. The caption highlights them as part of the “noisy bunch”", an informal expression that conveys the strength, unity, and positive impact that this group promises to bring to the sector.".
But what exactly does a AOPIThe Official Industrial Property Agent is the professional legally authorized to represent individuals and companies in processes related to the registration, protection, and management of industrial property rights. This includes everything from trademark and patent registration applications to acting in disputes, renewals, and providing technical and legal advice in this area.
The appointment of new agents represents an essential reinforcement of the national capacity to protect innovation, encourage entrepreneurship, and ensure that investment in ideas is valued and defended both within and outside Mozambican territory.
Nelson Nhachungue, now AOPI, joins this movement with a commitment to contributing to a more dynamic, fair, and efficient industrial property ecosystem in Mozambique.
