Mr Bow and Twenty Fingers represent Mozambique at the Trace Awards; awards go to Chelsea Dinorath and Fally Ipupa.

Mozambican musician Mr Bow was present in Zanzibar, Tanzania, where yesterday (26) the Trace Awards and Summit 2025 gala took place, one of the most prestigious events in African music. He and Twenty Fingers were Mozambique’s representatives, competing in prominent categories.

Mr Bow was nominated for "Best Male Artist," but the trophy was won by renowned Congolese singer Fally Ipupa, one of the most influential names in contemporary African music. In the "Best Lusophone Artist" category, where Mr Bow and Twenty Fingers were nominated, the winner was Angolan artist Chelsea Dinorath, solidifying her growth in the Lusophone music market.

The Trace Awards, organized by Trace TV, recognize the most impactful artists on the continent, promoting the diversity and richness of African music. Although they didn't win, the presence of Mr Bow and Twenty Fingers at the event reaffirms the relevance of Mozambican music on the international stage, showing that the country's artists continue to gain space and recognition.
