The Mozambican rapper Nikotina KF has just launched a bold challenge to the national music scene. Known for his authenticity and raw approach to rap, Nikotina announced a contest to recruit 10 “Very Bad” rappers or singers” – artists who have talent, but haven’t yet had the big opportunity to shine.
The objective of this initiative is to form the first Dream Team of the rapper, bringing together promising talents who stand out for their originality, sharp lyrics, and striking presence on the mic. According to Nikotina, he's not looking for ordinary artists, but rather those who, despite being highly talented, haven't yet received the exposure they deserve.
Opportunity for those who never gave up
With this competition, Nikotina KF aims to open doors for new names in hip-hop and Mozambican music in general. The proposal comes at a time when many young artists struggle to find a place in the industry, often due to a lack of support and platforms to showcase their work.
The selection of candidates will be based on strict criteria, focusing on creativity, flow, stage presence and commitment to art. The rapper didn't reveal all the details of the selection process, but he made it clear that those chosen will have a unique opportunity to work alongside him and possibly be part of future projects.
A new movement in Mozambican rap?
Nikotina KF has been one of the most influential rappers of the new generation, bringing a more direct and authentic approach to the genre. With this project, he may be creating a new movement within Mozambican hip-hop, boosting talent that might otherwise go unnoticed.
Now, we just have to wait and see who will be the 10 chosen to be part of the Nikotina KF's Dream Team and how this initiative could impact the music scene in Mozambique.
