Today, February 16, 2025, Roger Dinis Cuco, better known as Mr. Kuka, celebrates 37 years of life, marking more than two decades of dedication to Mozambican music. Born in Maputo in 1988, the artist established himself as one of the great names of Pandza, a musical style that he helped shape and popularize.
His passion for music began in the early 2000s, influenced by friends and family. 2005, formed the group 717 next to Big Paul and Chury, under the production of DJ Ardiles, a partner who accompanies him to this day. Initially in Hip-Hop, Mr. Kuka expanded his talent to Pandza, a genre that was gaining traction in Mozambique.
THE big leap in his career it happened in 2007, when he released the hit “Birinka Mal”, followed by “As You Like It”, alongside DJ Ardiles. His first major appearance was in 2010, in the show “Only Mozambique, Only Us”, paving the way for participation in important festivals such as First Pandza Festival and the UMOJA Festival.
Recognition came in 2013, when he won the award for Best Pandza at the Mozambique Music Awards, with the music “"Me too"”. In the same year, he released his first album, “Va Le Hi Ma Cord Vocal”, where he explored his vocal versatility. In addition to his solo career, he is a member of Republic of Pandza (RDP), next to DJ Ardiles, DJ Junior and DH.
Now, to the 37 years old, Mr. Kuka remains an essential figure in Mozambican music, maintaining his identity and influence in Pandza. His legacy proves that talent, persistence, and innovation are the key to longevity in the music scene.
