National Team Coach Chiquinho Conde is expected to make at least two changes to the Mambas' starting eleven as they face Guinea-Bissau tonight at the 24 de Setembro Stadium, in a crucial match for qualification to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
According to analyses by sports journalists at Notícias, the tactical structure in the 4-1-4-1 system will be maintained, but with specific changes in midfield to improve the team's passing dynamics and physical intensity.
Among the most likely changes is the departure of Dominguez, captain and attacking midfielder of UD Songo, who should be replaced by Alfons Amade, a player from Steptenvri Sofia in Bulgaria. On the left wing, Clésio Baúque (Al Arabi, United Arab Emirates) could give way to Gildo Vilanculos, who plays for Académica de Coimbra in Portugal.
Despite these changes, Chiquinho Conde is expected to maintain much of the structure that lined up in the last game in Maputo. Ernani (ABB) will continue in goal, while the defensive line will consist of Reinildo (Atlético Madrid, Spain) and Mexer Sitoe (Bandirmaspor, Turkey) as centre-backs. Bruno Langa (Almeria, Spain) and Infren Matola (UD Songo) are expected to occupy the full-back positions.
In midfield, Nené (ABB) will continue to play the role of first defensive lineman and link up with the central midfielders, Guima (Igdir FK, Turkey) and Alfons Amade. On the wings, Geny Catamo (Sporting, Portugal) is practically guaranteed a place on the right, while on the left the question remains between Clésio and Gildo.
In attack, Chiquinho Conde is expected to once again rely on Stanley Ratifo (Chemie Leipzig, Germany) as the main striker. Alfons Amade will be responsible for acting as the primary link between midfield and the forward.
This game is crucial for the Mambas, who are looking to secure a place in the biggest African national team competition. Expectations are high, and the proposed changes aim to strengthen the team's competitiveness in a match that promises to be intense.
