Mozambican international Ratifo, who plays in the fourth division of the German league, left Germany this afternoon for his homeland, where he will help the national team in the final double-header against Mali on the 15th, scheduled for the Zimpeto National Stadium, and on the 19th in Guinea-Bissau. Ratifo, a forward for the national team, has scored two goals in this group stage of qualifying for CAN-2025, both goals were scored against Eswatini in the last double-header.
Ratifo could be one of the first players currently playing abroad to arrive on home soil to join the national team's preparations for these major matches against Mali and Guinea-Bissau.
Mozambique leads Group I with 8 points and is still far from the qualifying spot, but it is extremely important to win Friday's game against Mali to secure qualification in Guinea-Bissau. Otherwise, Mozambique will be fighting for qualification in Guinea-Bissau with the calculators in hand, as three teams will be competing for two spots, should Guinea-Bissau win Friday's game against Eswatini.
Mozambique and Mali share the lead with 8 points, Guinea-Bissau is in third place with 4 points and needs 6 points in the last two rounds to qualify, while Eswatini is in last place with no chance of qualifying with only 1 point.
