International player for the National Team, Sidique Sataca, from União Desportiva do Songo, celebrates another year of life. Born into a family of footballers, he had the support from an early age of his father, Ismel Mussagi, a former player for Maxaquene and the National Team, and his brother, Sataca Jr., who currently plays for Baía de Pemba.
Sidique's career began in the youth ranks of Maxaquene, where he tried out various positions until discovering his true calling as a central defender. His talent was quickly recognized and, under the guidance of Abel Matusse, he joined the senior team of Desportivo de Maputo. During this period, Sidique found inspiration in names like Zainadine and Mexer, icons of national football.
Despite some challenges, such as a serious injury in 2013 that kept him off the field for five months, Sidique remained steadfast in his career. After spells at Ferroviário de Maputo and Desportivo, where he regained his confidence, Sidique found his home at União Desportiva do Songo, with whom he won important titles and continues to fight for more.
With 25 caps for the national team, Sidique dreams of leading his club to the group stage of the African Champions League and competing in the CAN. Despite the inherent difficulties of a football career, he remains determined and disciplined, believing that dreams, with persistence, can be achieved.
The player continues to be an example of dedication to the sport, inspired by the memory of his father and the strength of his brother, and celebrates this birthday with his sights set on new achievements.
