Black Bulls, the current holders of the Mozambique Cup, were eliminated from the competition this afternoon on their home ground, frustrating their aspirations to retain the title won last season. Now, the team has only one opportunity to represent Mozambique in African competitions next year: to win the Moçambola title or fight to secure second place in the overall standings, which could also open doors to continental competitions as the country's third representative team.
Following the elimination, coach Hélder Duarte expressed his frustration, stating that the "Bulls" deserved more in this match. However, the team is now focusing all its efforts on the fight for the national championship, where it still maintains a good chance of success.
With their early exit from the Mozambique Cup, Black Bulls have the option of focusing exclusively on the Moçambola (Mozambican league) to win a title this season and secure a place in continental competitions next year, either as champions or as runners-up.
