Happy Peace Day, Mozambique! Today we celebrate one of our nation's greatest triumphsโthe peace achieved through much effort and sacrifice, which now serves as the foundation upon which we build our future. This day, more than a simple celebration, symbolizes the strength of a people who chose harmony, reconciliation, and unity as the pillars of their journey.
Although it still faces challenges in supporting the music industry, Apathany has been an important vehicle for giving visibility to local talent, connecting musicians and listeners from all provinces and promoting social cohesion through our country's cultural diversity. The songs promoted by this platform serve as a soundtrack for moments of celebration, reflection, and building a more harmonious future.
On this Peace Day, may we reinforce our commitment to peace in all spheresโpolitical, social, cultural, and artistic. Through music and platforms like Apathany, we will continue to unite Mozambicans, strengthening the spirit of community and promoting the peace we cherish.

Today, October 4, 2024, we not only celebrate peace, but also the birthday of one of Mozambican music's promising stars: Paulo Jerรณnimo Rafael, better known as Killua Rafael. The artist, now 29, was born in Inhambane province and raised in Maputo, where he attended 1 de Maio Primary School and Khongolote and Bonifรกcio Gruveta Massamba Secondary Schools.
Inspired from a young age by legendary South African singer Lucky Dube, Killua decided to pursue a career in music. In 2019, he released his first song, "Uswete," which quickly gained popularity on digital platforms, marking his official debut in the music scene. Besides singing, Killua is also a law student at Unitiva, demonstrating his interest in balancing his artistic career with academic development.
In December 2021, Killua released his debut album, Mutxai, consisting of 13 tracks, featuring renowned producers such as Nleiser, Livio Mondlane, Kamikaze, and Ben Muthemba, as well as a special collaboration with artist Mavudja. The album is a blend of traditional and contemporary rhythms, reflecting the diversity that characterizes his musical journey.
Among his greatest musical influences are artists such as Lucky Dube, Jah Prayzah, and Oliver Mtukudzi, whose work helped shape Killua's unique style. With his talent, he has distinguished himself in the Mozambican music scene and continues to gain more fans, while balancing his studies with creating new music.
Today, we celebrate not only Killua's talent, but also his commitment to culture and peace, exemplifying how music can be a powerful instrument of unity in Mozambique.
Peace is unity. Peace is culture. Peace is Mozambique. And music, promoted by platforms like Apathany and artists like Killua Rafael, is a living reflection of our journey toward a better future!
