Regional Qualifying Phase of the Sasol Women's Basketball League

The Sasol Women's Basketball League begins its regional qualifying phase tomorrow, September 26th, in the South and North zones of Mozambique. The competitions are designed to determine which clubs will have the opportunity to compete in the National League. The draw for the South zone, which includes teams such as Maxaquene, Desportivo, Águias Especiais, and Eagles da Maxixe, will be held today in Maputo at 4:30 PM. In the North zone, the teams Ferroviário de Nacala, União Juvenil de Napipine, Academia New Vision de Pemba, and FL Segurança de Lichinga will compete for a spot, with the draw scheduled for 6:00 PM in Nampula.

The qualifying process involves selecting two teams from each zone, who will join Clube Municipal da Beira, already qualified from the Central zone. In addition, the five clubs that qualified directly for the third edition of the League are also part of this competitive scenario. The qualified teams, such as Ferroviário de Maputo, Costa do Sol, Lázio, A Politécnica, and Ferroviário da Beira, have already secured their place, increasing the competitiveness and interest in the upcoming matches.

This qualifying phase is crucial for teams aspiring to a place in the National League, as it represents a valuable opportunity to demonstrate talent and determination on the field.
