Maxaquene Submits Appeal to Participate in the Moรงambola 2025 Qualifying Pool

After the license was not granted by the First Instance Body of the Club Licensing Commission (CLC) of the Mozambican Football Federation (FMF), Maxaquene announced that it will appeal the decision, as revealed by the club's president, Abrรฃo Muianga.

The situation stems from irregularities detected by the governing body, which temporarily prevent the "tricolor" club from participating in the South Zone Qualifying Pool, despite having secured the sporting right to compete. The main reason cited is the club's debts, but the president disputes the nature of these accusations.

According to Abrรฃo Muianga, the aforementioned debts do not refer to the current period, but rather to previous years, and are being paid gradually. The president assures that, regarding the current period, Maxaquene has no outstanding financial obligations with the Association, and payments are up to date, including the salaries of athletes, coaches, and staff.

โ€œ"We have the minimum conditions to participate in the Group Stage and return to the Moรงambola," Muianga said in an interview with RM Desporto. He also emphasized that other clubs facing similar financial issues have managed to regularize their situations and participate in the championship, making the decision to bar Maxaquene unjustifiable.

Abrรฃo Muianga confirmed that Maxaquene will file an appeal with the FMF Licensing Commission's Appeals Body. He believes there are sufficient arguments and evidence for the club to obtain the license and secure its participation in the qualifying round.

โ€œ"We will file an appeal tomorrow, presenting all the necessary arguments. We are confident that the Commission has sufficient evidence to reverse the decision and allow our participation in the 2025 Moรงambola Qualifying Pool," stated the club's leader.

Maxaquene's possible absence from the competition would be a severe blow to Mozambican football, as the club is a historic figurehead with a legacy of victories and titles. However, the appeal filed gives fans and management hope that the club can compete and eventually regain its place among the national football elite.

The final decision will now depend on the FMF Licensing Commission's Appeals Body, which will be responsible for reviewing the case and determining whether Maxaquene will be able to participate in the Poule and continue its trajectory towards Moรงambola 2025.
