Today, September 18, 2024, Hélder Duarte, coach of Black Bulls, was summoned by the Disciplinary Council of the Mozambican Football League (LMF). Duarte is expected to appear at the LMF headquarters at 4 PM to provide clarifications regarding his recent statements made after the 1-1 draw against Ferroviário da Beira.
Hélder Duarte's criticisms generated a great deal of repercussion when he insinuated the existence of "dirty tricks" in the match's outcome and criticized referee Artur Alfinar's performance. Furthermore, Duarte stated that his team "fights against everything and everyone," including the championship's sponsor, who, according to him, "wants to be champion.".
The LMF (Mozambican Football League) considered that these statements raise serious questions about the integrity of the Moçambola (Mozambican football league) and, therefore, summoned the coach to clarify his words. The Disciplinary Council seeks to assess the impact of the criticism and ensure that the credibility of the competition is preserved.
Hélder Duarte, known for his outspokenness, will now have to justify his statements to the LMF (Minas Gerais Football League) officials. Depending on the outcome of the hearing, he could face sanctions, ranging from fines to suspensions, if his statements are deemed damaging to the image of the championship.
Everyone is awaiting explanations from the Black Bulls coach, hoping that this hearing will clear up any misunderstandings and ensure the smooth running of the Moçambola league.
