Atlético de Madrid, with Mozambican international Reinildo Mandava, secured a comfortable 3-0 victory over Valencia in the fifth round of La Liga. The win puts the "Colchoneros" in second place in the table with 11 points, behind only Barcelona.
The match, played at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium, showcased Atlético's dominance from the start. The first goal was scored by Conor Gallagher in the 39th minute, putting the home team ahead before halftime. Antoine Griezmann extended the lead to 2-0 in the 54th minute, consolidating Atlético's control of the game.
Reinildo Mandava, who returned to the club after his participation in the double qualifying round for the Mozambican national team, came on in the 77th minute to reinforce the defense, when Atlético were already winning by two goals. In the final minutes, J. Alvarez sealed the victory with a goal in the 90+4 minute, confirming the three points for the team from the Spanish capital.
With this victory, Atlético de Madrid now has 11 points and temporarily occupies second place in La Liga, behind leaders Barcelona. Valencia, on the other hand, continues to struggle, remaining at the bottom of the table.
