União Desportiva de Songo (UDS) achieved an important victory by defeating Ferroviário de Nampula 2-0 this afternoon, in a match valid for the 2024 Moçambola. With this triumph, UDS now temporarily shares the championship lead with Black Bulls, both with 32 points, although Black Bulls has two games in hand.
UDS' goals were scored by Luis Miquissone in the 24th minute, who, in addition to opening the scoring, was named man of the match for his brilliant performance, and John Banda, who extended the lead in the 81st minute, securing the three points for the home team.
With the victory, UDS continues its excellent campaign in the competition, showing consistency and quality on the field. Although they have one game less, the Songo team is putting pressure on Black Bulls in the fight for the title, creating a fierce dispute at the top of the table.
On the other hand, Ferroviário de Nampula continues to go through a difficult period, remaining on 19 points and far from the top positions. The team needs to react quickly to move away from the relegation zone and improve its performance at this stage of the championship.
