A native of Mozambique and holder of dual Portuguese nationality, Cepeda brings with him extensive experience gained over several decades, having worked for various clubs and held positions in national and international football.
Cepeda began his coaching career in Portugal, working with youth teams. Between 2008 and 2010, he led the UD Leiria U-17 team, a crucial period in his development as a coach, where he began to develop his analytical perspective on football. From there, he built a diverse career, with stints in several African and European countries.
On the international stage, his experience in Burkina Faso stands out, where he served as assistant coach of Rahimo in 2017/18, and in Cyprus, where he was assistant to the Omonia Aradippou in the 2023/24 season. These experiences abroad allowed him to gain a broad insight into different football styles and training methodologies.
However, it was in Mozambique that Alex Cepeda left an important mark over the years. He has worked at several clubs in the country, such as Sporting da Beira, the Chibuto Club and the MG da Matola, where he held positions as coach and training coordinator. In Pemba Bay, played a key role as assistant coach and training coordinator, demonstrating his dedication to developing young talent and structuring long-term projects.
