Players Ernan and Guima will be absent from the Mozambique National Football Team's next match against Eswatini. The match, part of the third round of Group I of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) qualifiers, will take place at the Zimpeto National Stadium in Maputo.
The absence of both players is due to accumulated yellow cards. Goalkeeper Ernan and midfielder Guima received two yellow cards in previous matches against Mali (a 1-1 draw) and Guinea-Bissau (a 2-1 win). According to the competition rules, a player who accumulates two yellow cards is suspended for the next match.
Therefore, despite being eligible for selection, Ernan and Guima will not be available for the match against Eswatini. However, both could return for the matchday four match, which will also be against Eswatini.
Mozambique currently leads Group I with four points, tied with Mali in second place. On matchday two, Mali defeated Eswatini 1-0. The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has not yet confirmed the specific date and time for the match against Eswatini.
