Alex Raul Sitoe, better known as New Chung, is a martial arts master and instructor for the special forces of the Police of the Republic of Mozambique. Born in 1979 in Chicumbane, Gaza province, New Chung overcame a childhood marked by the civil war in Mozambique and forged an extraordinary path that led him to the Shaolin Temple in China, transforming him into a symbol of discipline, strength, and perseverance.
At the age of five, New Chung left Mozambique with a Chinese family, fleeing the hardships and uncertainties of war. Upon arriving in China, he was taken to the Shaolin Temple, where he began his rigorous kung fu training, living in isolation and dedicating himself intensely to the art for two decades. During this period, he forged himself as a master and acquired the coveted black belt, earning a new name that symbolizes his strength and determination.
After his stay at the Shaolin Temple, New Chung went to Canada, where he completed his studies in Business Management, before returning to Mozambique in 2009. Since then, he has dedicated himself to sharing his knowledge, becoming an instructor for the Mozambican special police forces and a digital influencer. His journey is a living example of overcoming challenges and commitment, inspiring young people to persevere in their dreams, regardless of adversity.
With the dream of one day bringing his story to the big screen and inspiring even more people, New Chung continues to be a role model in the country. On this special day, his wife, the Mozambican singer Matilde Conjo, lovingly and proudly celebrates the extraordinary man he is, wishing him a happy birthday. May his journey continue to be a source of inspiration for everyone.
