After being sidelined for over a year and a half by decision of the Mozambican Football Federation (FMF) board, Eduardo Jumisse is once again part of the Mambas' coaching staff. This return was one of the demands of the national team coach, Chiquinho Conde, for the renewal of his contract.
Jumisse's dismissal occurred after the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations (CHAN), when he was accused of inciting players to go on strike at the end of the competition, in protest against the lack of increased bonuses for reaching the round of 16. Furthermore, his dismissal was also due to his lack of an adequate level to perform the role of assistant national team coach, a problem that was resolved after Jumisse successfully completed CAF's B course, organized by the FMF.
Jumisse's reinstatement was possible due to the need to adjust the structure of the technical team. As there was no room to increase the number of assistants, the FMF decided to remove Mbinho, who held the position of assistant to Chiquinho Conde. Therefore, Eduardo Jumisse returns to the technical team with a new contract that runs until January 31, 2026, in line with the renewed contracts of the other assistants.
This move marks a new phase for the Mozambican national team, with the expectation that Jumisse will contribute significantly to the team's success, leveraging his experience and recent training. Jumisse's return and the renewal of the coaching staff are seen as an opportunity to strengthen the Mambas' performance in future competitions.
