UD Songo and Costa do Sol Maintain Tie in the Classification Table with 28 Points

The match between União Desportiva do Songo and Costa do Sol ended in a 1-1 draw this afternoon in Vila do Songo. With this result, both teams remain tied in the Moçambola standings, now with 28 points each.

UD Songo, playing at home, started the game with great intensity, opening the scoring in the 9th minute. Luís Miquissone, who recently returned to the team, scored the goal that put the home team ahead. This was Miquissone's first goal since returning to the Moçambola, and it gave his team the early lead.

Costa do Sol, however, remained undeterred and fought back to recover from the deficit. After a first half that ended 1-0 in favor of UD Songo, the visitors intensified their efforts in the second half.

Costa do Sol's persistence was rewarded in the 87th minute, when Malawian Mbulu found the back of the net, tying the game at 1-1. Mbulu's goal denied UD Songo the victory and ensured both teams emerged from the match with one point each.

In the final minutes, UD Songo still tried to regain the lead, but Costa do Sol's defense held out well, and the draw prevailed until the final whistle.

With this result, both UD Songo and Costa do Sol remain in a tight battle for the top of the table, now with 28 points. The championship remains competitive, and both teams will continue to fight in the coming rounds to claim the 2024 Moçambola title.
