Witiness Quembo Turns 28: A Successful Career in International Football

On this day, August 26th, Witiness Chimoio João Quembo, known in the football world as Witi, celebrates his 28th birthday. Born in the city of Beira in 1996, Witi is one of the great talents of Mozambican football, currently playing for Nacional da Madeira in Portugal.

Witi began his career in the youth ranks of Liga Muçulmana de Maputo, where he quickly stood out as a promising striker. In 2014, he took a big step in his career by transferring to Portugal, where he joined the junior team of Nacional da Madeira. In January 2015, at the age of 18, Witi made his professional debut in a 2-1 victory over Boavista in the Portuguese Primeira Liga. Three days later, he scored his first professional goal in a match against Moreirense, valid for the Taça da Liga, standing out for his skill and precision.

His performance caught the attention of Benfica, one of the biggest clubs in Portugal, who signed him in January 2015. Witi was integrated into Benfica's youth team, where he had the opportunity to further hone his skills. However, in June of the same year, he returned to Nacional da Madeira, where he continued his professional career.

In addition to his club career, Witi also plays an important role in the Mozambican National Football Team. He made his debut for the Mambas in 2015 and represented Mozambique at the COSAFA Cup, held in South Africa, showcasing his talent in international competitions.

Throughout his career, Witi has distinguished himself through his speed, skill, and decision-making ability, both nationally and internationally. At 28 years old, he continues to be a central figure in Mozambican football and a role model for young athletes aspiring to an international career.

On this birthday, Witiness Quembo celebrates not only another year of life, but also a career full of achievements and the promise to continue contributing to football, both in Mozambique and abroad.
