The recent revision of ticket prices for Ferroviário de Nampula games has generated a wave of dissatisfaction among the club's supporters. Starting with the next matchday, Axinenis fans will have to pay 150 meticais for a regular ticket and 300 meticais for the VIP area. This change, announced through the club's social media, was not well received by many fans, who expressed their concerns and frustrations online.
“They’re already banning it. They weren’t happy with the overcrowding,” commented one supporter, suggesting that the new prices could drive fans away instead of attracting them. Another supporter of Ferroviário de Nampula shared an experience from Ferroviário de Lichinga, which at the beginning of the season implemented a similar measure, resulting in a drastic reduction in the number of spectators. "Given the current economic situation in the country, it's preferable to charge 100MT and fill the stadium than to charge 150MT and have it empty," the fan stated, alluding to the difficult economic situation many Mozambicans are currently facing.
Still, some fans believe the price could be justified, provided the team delivers good results on the field. “That’s a good price! We’ll pay 300MT without any problem, but we want good results. It’s not about paying 300MT and then getting a headache, or even better, telling us to carry paracetamol in our pockets,” another fan joked, emphasizing that the quality of the team’s performances will be crucial to justifying the increase.
