26th National Karate Championship Kimura Shukokai Brings Together Karatecas in Nampula

Next Sunday, August 18th, the Lúrio University Pavilion in Nampula province will host the 26th Kimura Shukokai National Karate Championship. The event, promoted by the Mozambican Kimura Shukokai Karate Association, will feature 147 karatekas from across the country.

The competition will cover several categories, including children, beginners, cadets, youth, juniors, U-21s, seniors, and veterans, for both men and women. The disciplines to be competed will be kata, kumite, and team competitions.

In addition to the competitions, the event will feature a master referee from the International Kimura Shukokai Federation. His participation aims to provide training for coaches and assist in the organization of the championship, enriching the participants' experience and contributing to the improvement of local skills.

It is important to note the absence of the provinces of Gaza and Inhambane from this year's event, a situation due to a lack of resources. This gap highlights the challenges faced in the development of the sport in some regions of Mozambique. The Mozambican Karate Association Kimura Shukokai, together with sports federations and the government, must work to ensure that all provinces have the opportunity to participate and develop their athletes, promoting greater inclusion and growth of the sport at the national level.
