ÉNIA LIPANGA TAKES MARRABENTA TO BRAZIL IN THE FORM OF POETRY

Mozambican writer and poet Énia Lipanga is in Brazil for a cultural tour entitled “Digressão Composta de TI(S)”. For two months, Énia will bring the strength and beauty of Mozambican culture, especially marrabenta, to various states in Brazil, including Rio de Janeiro, Boa Vista, São Paulo, Florianópolis, Santa Maria, among others.

The “IT(S) Composite Digression” is not limited to presenting marrabenta in its traditional form. Énia plans a series of activities that include cultural gatherings, writing workshops, lectures, and conversation circles among women. Each of these initiatives seeks not only to present Mozambican culture but also to foster a rich cultural exchange between Brazil and Mozambique.

By bringing marrabenta to Brazil in the form of poetry, Énia Lipanga is not only promoting a musical genre, but also opening doors to an intercultural dialogue that values the common African roots and diverse cultural expressions of both countries. Her tour is an invitation for Brazilians to get to know and celebrate Mozambican culture, while also recognizing the deep connections that unite the two nations.

This initiative represents a significant step in strengthening cultural relations between Mozambique and Brazil, demonstrating how art can be a powerful means of connection and mutual understanding. Through her “Digression Composed of TI(S)”, Énia Lipanga invites everyone to participate in a poetic and cultural journey that will surely leave a lasting mark on both sides of the Atlantic.
