The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed a trio of Mozambican referees for the decisive match between Nigeria and Mauritania, valid for the second qualifying round for the African Beach Soccer Championship (CAN Praia), which will take place in Egypt in 2024. The game will be played next Saturday, July 24, 2024.
The match will be officiated by Dique Muxanga (main referee), Ângelo Nguenha and Jone Chocota (assistant referees). Angolan Aliano Lacala will act as the fourth official.
The match promises to be very exciting, as Nigeria narrowly defeated Mauritania 5-4 in the first leg. Both teams are vying for one of the eight spots in the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) in Praia, which will be held between October 23 and 30 of this year.
The appointment of Mozambican referees is a recognition of the high level and competence demonstrated by the country's referees in recent competitions. Dique Muxanga and Ângelo Nguenha had outstanding performances at the COSAFA Beach Soccer Cup, held in Durban in March of this year.
The match between Nigeria and Mauritania will be a great challenge for the Mozambican refereeing trio, but also an opportunity to demonstrate their talent and professionalism to the African continent. We wish Dique Muxanga, Ângelo Nguenha, Jone Chocota and Aliano Lacala success!
