Family and Medical Team Confirm Improvement in the Health of Dilon Djindji, Marrabenta Icon

The health of Dilon Djindji, the renowned Marrabenta icon, has shown signs of improvement, despite relapses that continue to worry the family. The updates were provided following the recent visit of the Minister of Culture and Tourism, Eldevina Materula, to Maputo Central Hospital.

Current Health Status

Dilon Djindji, who fell ill on July 15th and was placed in intensive care, continues to receive treatment at Maputo Central Hospital, but is no longer in the Intensive Care Unit. The Chief Physician on Duty, Anilsa Daniel, confirmed that the artist is stable and showing improvement, although he still requires special care. "He was admitted in a serious condition, but is showing improvement. He is a patient who requires the attention of all teams on duty. We are committed to doing our best," stated Anilsa Daniel.

Reactions from the Family and the Minister

António Dilon Djindji, the musician's son, revealed that, despite the relapses, the family is pleased with his father's progress and the support he has received. "My father is improving, although he suffers relapses, which worries the family. In the meantime, we are very grateful for the support given to the musician," his son stated.

During the visit, Eldevina Materula expressed Dilon Djindji's gratitude for the continued support of institutions, individuals, and the government. "We came to personally embrace him and express our support. We are deeply grateful for his work. This is yet another gesture of affection for our Marrabenta master," Materula emphasized.

Appeal to Society

The Minister also urged society to continue supporting the musician, especially by purchasing his CDs, as a way to help both the artist and his family. "Buying the artist's products is an excellent way to provide assistance. Our presence here is to show that we are all united in supporting Dilon Djindji," concluded Materula.
