Sporting Clube de Portugal released the second episode of its "Pepsi Challenge" series, this time featuring Geny Catamo and Mariana Rosa. The episode began lively, punctuated by a joke about the Mozambican international's alleged 45-minute delay.
Geny Catamo, 23, denied the prolonged delay and explained that, had it occurred during a first-team training session, the penalty would have been severe, potentially including a fine and a dinner offered to his teammates. Mariana Rosa and Guilherme Geirinhas, a comedian and interviewer for the club, jumped at the chance to request a dinner at a sushi restaurant, but Catamo refused to pay, claiming he disliked that type of food.
The episode continued with a challenge in which Geny recalled the moment he was added to the first team's WhatsApp group by captain Sebastián Coates. Catamo admitted that, initially, he didn't respond or post anything in the group, preferring to remain private and discreet.
The conversation took a more personal tone when they revealed that Catamo recently got married and is about to become a father. Geirinhas challenged him to make a difficult choice: miss his son's birth or miss an important match. After some hesitation, the Mozambican agreed with Mariana Rosa, opting not to miss his son's birth, emphasizing that there will be many matches throughout his career, but moments like the birth of a child are unique.
In a moment of relaxation, Geirinhas challenged him with a true or false question about Rúben Amorim, where Geny got the coach's second-to-last name wrong and humorously apologized: "I apologize, mister."“
To conclude, the episode featured a skill challenge where players had to make the most passes without dropping the ball while holding a tray of Pepsi. Geny Catamo and Mariana Rosa outperformed the duo from the first episode, Daniel Bragança and Ana Borges, by completing six passes to four, placing them in first place in the "Pepsi Challenge" leaderboard.
