The Mozambican football scene shone with a special light this afternoon when Mozambican international Telinho was awarded the title of best player in the 2023 Moçambola season. In an emotional ceremony, the talented striker received a well-deserved prize: a brand new Nissan Almera.
Telinho, whose exceptional performance throughout the season left an indelible mark on the championship, overcame strong competition, including Dayo from União Desportiva do Songo, the top scorer in the Moçambola with an impressive 12 goals, Parkim from Associação Desportiva de Vilankulo, Ling, champion with Ferroviário da Beira, and Henriques from AD Vilankulo.
The winner was chosen based on votes from fans, coaches, the National Team coach, and journalists from the newspaper Desafio, Televisão de Moçambique, and RM Desporto. Telinho, who had already won this prestigious award in 2018, once again demonstrated his mastery on the field, culminating in his election as the best player of the Moçambola-2023.
Throughout the competition, Telinho shone especially in the second month of the Moçambola, being one of the main highlights on the field. With an incredible contribution of nine goals, the striker played a vital role in the success of Ferroviário de Nampula, which achieved the remarkable third position in the National Championship.
The awards weren't limited to the best player title; Telinho received a valuable prize, a brand new Nissan Almera, offered by Motorcare in collaboration with Sociedade do Notícias, SA and the Mozambican Football League.
