Despite today's heavy defeat against Mamelodi Sundowns, by four goals to nil, the Mozambican team advances to the next phase of the African Women's Champions League.
It was already known by everyone that today's game would not be easy, against Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa. The difference in level is noticeable, even from a distance. South African women's football is more competitive compared to national football. Even so, the Canarinhas (Brazilian women's team) were very good in the first 45 minutes, going into halftime trailing (1-0).
However, the second half was crucial for the women's national team, who conceded three goals and lost 4-0 to nil. The heavy defeat will not negatively affect the team, as they have already qualified for the next phase along with Mamelodi Sundowns, one of the title contenders.
