Mozambican musician and composer Justino Ubakka, better known simply as "Ubakka" or "King of Weddings," celebrates his 35th birthday today, July 1st. The date takes on an even more special meaning this year, as it coincides with the 10th anniversary of the artist's official career and the release of his fifth album, entitled [title missing]. Born in Maputo province in 1990, Ubakka began his musical journey in church, entering the music world in 2004. With an Afro-Pop style, the artist has become one of the most respected and beloved voices in the country, recognized for his ability to move and uplift with songs that quickly become soundtracks for celebrations, especially weddings\u2014hence the title he proudly carries.<\/p>\n

Throughout his career, he distinguished himself with themes such as My People Weep<\/em>, produced by Mukheru Music, whose music video sensitively portrayed the social reality of the country. His time at IBS (Ind\u00fastria do Bom Som), as creative and artistic director, also marked an important chapter in his career.<\/p>\n

Among the hits that solidified his name in the market, songs such as stand out. I'm going to marry you.<\/em>, Yesu<\/em>, Xipoco<\/em>, Masterstroke<\/em>, Xibebentana<\/em> and From January to December<\/em>. Over time, Ubakka has collaborated with nationally renowned artists and draws inspiration from the acclaimed Congolese musician Lokua Kanza, whom he considers his greatest idol.<\/p>\n
