The Nampula City Court upheld the criminal complaint filed by rapper and social activist Iveth Mafundza against Mozambican musician Lil Wayne de Moz. The case gained notoriety on social media and in the media, culminating in a court ruling convicting the artist of three separate crimes.<\/p>\n

Lil Wayne de Moz was sentenced to four months in prison for defamation, two months for insults, and three months for making death threats against Iveth. The sentences, which total nine months in prison, were the result of several posts and statements deemed offensive and threatening, according to the lawsuit.<\/p>\n

In addition to the custodial sentences, the court also ordered the musician to pay 4 million meticais in compensation to the plaintiff for the moral damages caused. The decision sets an important precedent in cases of verbal violence and threats against public figures in the country.<\/p>\n

The artist's defense has not yet officially commented on the possibility of an appeal, while Iveth celebrated the outcome as a victory for justice and women's rights to integrity and respect.<\/p>\n
