Lourena Felicidade Nhate, born on August 26, 1987, grew up in the Hulene "B" neighborhood, on the outskirts of Maputo, Mozambique. From an early age, she showed a talent for music, beginning to sing in the church choir at age eight, where she excelled and developed her vocal skills.<\/p>\n
At 17, Lourena gained notoriety by participating in "Fama Show," one of the biggest reality shows of the time, promoted by STV in partnership with MCEL. She reached the finals and took second place, which opened the door to a music career.<\/p>\n
After the "Fama Show," Lourena had the opportunity to collaborate with renowned artists from the Mozambican music scene, such as Oliver Style, Tabasil, Neyma, and Mr. Bow. Under the guidance of composer and producer Ziqo, she recorded her first album, "Mbava Juiz," in 2006. With 12 tracks, the album was well received in Mozambique and other countries, such as Germany, Portugal, and South Africa, where Lourena performed at the invitation of event promoters.<\/p>\n
In 2016, Lourena released the song \u201cAwu Hembi\u201d (You're Not Lying), which quickly became a \u201cnational anthem\u201d, being widely played on radio and television programs, as well as at social events such as lobolos and traditional weddings.<\/p>\n
Recently, Lourena performed a duet with singer Ringo on the track "Na Bonga Papa" (Thank You Dad), a tribute to fathers. Her song "Ni Famba na Wena" also contributed to her international reach, with a music video filmed in China, featuring Chinese models dressed in capulana dresses.<\/p>\n
Lourena holds a degree in Human Resources Management from the Pedagogical University (UP) and, due to her charitable work, was elected ambassador for social responsibility issues at World Vision in Mozambique for three years.
