Today, July 1st, 2024, we joyfully and admiringly celebrate the 34th birthday of Justino Ubakka, also known as the "King of Weddings." This talented Mozambican musician and composer, born in Maputo province in 1990, has enriched the music scene with his unique voice and inspiring compositions since 2004.<\/p>\n
From his earliest steps in music, singing in churches, Ubakka has dedicated himself to Afro-pop, winning hearts with his authenticity and passion. His artistic journey is marked by numerous successes and notable collaborations, always driven by the divine gift he recognizes and values.<\/p>\n
In recent years, his contribution as creative and artistic director at IBS (Ind\u00fastria do Bom Som) has stood out especially after the release of the powerful song "Meu Povo Chora" (My People Cry), produced by Mukheru Music. The music video for this song drew attention by sensitively and truthfully portraying the difficult realities experienced in Mozambique.<\/p>\n
Among his many hits that resonate on the radio and in fans' playlists, highlights include "Vou te Casar," "Yesu," "Xipoco," "Golpe de Mestre," "Xibebentana," and "De Janeiro a Dezembro." In 2018, Ubakka released his first album, *Sunangai*, with 25 tracks, followed by *Sunangai Vol. 2* in 2019, with 12 tracks, *Sunangai Vol. 3* in 2021, with 14 tracks, and, on his birthday last year, *Sunangai Vol. 4*. Each album is a celebration of his musical evolution and his commitment to art.<\/p>\n
Ubakka is also known for his collaborations with renowned artists, always motivated by his talent and inspiration, with Congolese musician Lokua Kanza as his idol.<\/p>\n
Today, on his birthday, we pay tribute to Justino Ubakka not only as an exceptional musician, but also as a dedicated human being, passionate about his art and his people.
