Musician Dilon Jinje, one of the biggest names in Mozambican Marrabenta, has been away from the stage for more than two years due to age-related health problems.<\/span><\/h2>\n

At 97 years old, the artist faces breathing difficulties, heart problems and memory loss that prevent him from continuing to perform live.<\/span><\/p>\n

A life dedicated to music<\/strong><\/p>\n

Born in Marracuene in 1927, Dilon Jinje had a life marked by music. <\/span>From an early age, he demonstrated musical talent, building his own three-string guitar at the age of twelve.<\/span>\u00a0At fifteen, he was already playing at weddings and parties, beginning a career that would lead him to become one of the biggest names in Marrabenta.<\/span><\/p>\n
