Chapter 39 – Everyone in PROSPER
With their network formed — Salimo handling fertile eggs, Hamza the incubator, Beto the fattening process, and Fito the logistics — the four decided to take the next step: seeking guidance. They knew enthusiasm was important, but it wasn't enough. They needed technique, discipline, and market vision.
That's how they enrolled in the PROSPERAR program at Quinta Nicy. Welcomed by Mr. Ernesto and other mentors, they found an environment that combined youth, practice, and knowledge.
During the sessions, they learned that each link in the chain had to be aligned. Salimo needed to ensure quality and hygiene in the fertilized eggs. Hamza had to control temperature and humidity in the incubator to avoid production losses. Beto needed to calculate feed costs and fattening time. Fito, in turn, had to organize delivery routes, register orders, and communicate effectively on social media.
But there was an even more motivating detail: they discovered they weren't alone. The program connected young people from different neighborhoods, all with similar stories, all trying to thrive. They felt part of something bigger—a generation rising up.
At the end of the first training session, they heard from their mentor: — “Eggs, chicks, chickens, or deliveries… everything is business if it’s done with dedication. The secret is that everyone does their part well and that everyone trusts each other.”
They left there with one certainty: the future was no longer just a dream. It was a work in progress.
You Can: Mentoring is the bridge that transforms goodwill into a sustainable business.
